About Us

Since its founding in October 2010 by David Leen, the UCC Archery Club has established itself as a successful body both in UCC and in the greater archery community. The club has gone from strength to strength in a short space of time, hosting national competitions as well as taking part in intervarsity's throughout the country. Every year since 2011, the club has hosted the National Student Indoor Championships (NSIC), the largest archery intervarsity in Ireland. This year we will hold it once more in The Mardyke Arena on February 22nd & 23rd.

With over 300 students signing up this year, our Club is made up of both experienced and beginner archers so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people while learning how to shoot. We have a relaxed atmosphere in the Club, whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned archer, the Club facilitates a variety of options.

Why not come and visit the coaching sessions every Tuesday night in The Mardyke Arena, where the Club’s experienced archers and coaches will teach you how to shoot! You can compete in our National Student League throughout the year or just come to weekly training and shoot at your own pace while making some friends along the way.

We offer a 6-week training course to our beginners who show dedication and enthusiasm, training them up towards our intermediate squad so that they can then partake in national competitions. With experienced, friendly trainers, a good atmosphere, all the equipment provided and the opportunity of competing nationally, what more could you want in a club?

This year we also move into our new home Pouladuff where our intermediate shooters can get some really intense training in and aim higher to come home with more National medals than ever!
